Data Deletion Instructions
1580 Resources LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the My Church Secretary (“MCS”) application. This page explains how you can request that we delete the personal data we hold about you, including any data we receive when you log in to, or connect to, MCS using your Facebook account. These instructions are provided in accordance with the Meta Platform Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Who These Instructions Apply To
If you signed in to MCS using Facebook Login, the information we receive from Facebook is limited to the basic profile fields you authorize — typically your name, email address, and Facebook account identifier. These instructions explain how to remove MCS’s access to your Facebook account and how to request deletion of the data associated with your MCS account.
Important distinction between roles:
- Church administrators and other authorized users (“Customer” users) hold an MCS account and may follow the instructions below to request deletion of their account data.
- Church members (“Members”) whose information is entered into MCS by a Church do not control that data directly. Under our Privacy Policy, each Church is the controller of its Members’ information and MCS acts only as a processor. Members should direct deletion requests to their Church, which can delete or anonymize the information through the Service.
2. How to Remove MCS From Your Facebook Account
To disconnect MCS from your Facebook account at any time:
- Log in to Facebook and go to Settings & Privacy → Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, select “Apps and Websites.”
- Locate “My Church Secretary” in the list of connected apps.
- Select the app and click “Remove.”
Removing the app stops MCS from receiving any further information from your Facebook account. Removing the app does not, by itself, delete the data already stored in your MCS account — to request that deletion, follow Section 3 below.
3. How to Request Deletion of Your MCS Data
To request deletion of the personal data we hold about you, send an email to support@mychurchsecretary.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.” Please include the following so we can locate and verify your records:
- The name and email address associated with your MCS account (and, if you used Facebook Login, the email on your Facebook account);
- The name of the Church or organization your account is associated with, if applicable; and
- A statement that you are requesting deletion of your personal data from My Church Secretary.
We will verify your request using information already associated with your account before acting on it.
4. What We Delete and What We May Retain
Once your request is verified, we will delete or de-identify the personal data associated with your MCS account, including profile information received through Facebook Login. Certain information may be retained where we are required or permitted to keep it, including:
- SMS consent and messaging records, which we retain for a minimum of four (4) years following the last message, as required for telecommunications compliance;
- Information that persists in routine backup systems, which is overwritten on a rolling basis for up to ninety (90) days following deletion from our primary systems; and
- Records we are required to retain to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or contractual obligations.
Where a Church is the controller of the data, our deletion is carried out on that Church’s instruction and subject to its retention decisions, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Confirmation and Timing
We will acknowledge your request promptly and, in most cases, complete the deletion within thirty (30) days. If we need additional time or information, or if a legal exception prevents us from deleting certain data, we will tell you and explain the reason. On request, we will provide written confirmation once your data has been deleted.
